As countless music fans share their 2023 listening habits with ‘Spotify Wrapped’, the streaming platform has also revealed what music was listened to the most in some major cities, including Victoria.
The top artist for B.C.’s capital city was Taylor Swift, who released several “Taylor’s Version” albums and “Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition)” this year.
The city’s other top artists were Drake, Morgan Wallen, The Weeknd and Kanye West.
Canada’s most-listened-to artists were almost identical. The only change was that 21 Savage took the fifth spot over West.
Swift, The Weeknd and Drake were also top five globally.
Victoria’s favourite genres of the year were pop, rap, rock, hip-hop and classic rock.
The most-streamed song in the city was “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus.
The other biggest hits of the year were SZA’s “Kill Bill”, “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen and Swift’s “Cruel Summer” and “Anti-Hero.”
“Flowers” was also the top song globally with 1.6 million streams and was the runner-up in Canada behind “Last Night.”
