Elvis Stojko is returning to the Comox Valley for a pair of shows at the Sports Centre on Saturday, March 17.

The skating superstar and his wife/fellow skating icon Gladys Orozco, along with club skaters, will perform in the Comox Valley Skating Club’s ice show, One More Time.

Stojko and Orozco performed in two sold-out shows in 2016.

“They were so well received last time,” club coach Greg Ladret said. “I thought, ‘Let’s try it again.’ I figured one more time it would work out. Hopefully I’m right.”

At the 1991 world championships, Stojko became the first person to land a quadruple-double jump combination. He is a three-time world champion, and two-time Olympic silver medallist.

Ladret said several former skaters are coming home to appear in the show — which has been the main fundraiser for the club over the last two years.

The entire arena will be decorated to the nines.

“And I always add a little magic into the show,” said Ladret, who spends his summers being a magician in New York.

Tickets are $25, available at Blue Heron Books and Gone Hollywood Video in Comox, Daryl Robbins Notary Public in Courtenay or the Vancouver Island Visitor Centre in Courtenay.

Online tickets are available at comoxvalleyskatingclub.tickit.ca

The community will have an opportunity to mingle with Stojko and Orozco at a March 16 Meet & Greet, 7-9 p.m. at the Black Fin Pub banquet room in Comox. Tickets are also $25 for this event.
