It is with great sadness we announce that Thomas Hamilton, 89, passed away peacefully Friday, June 30, 2017. Tommy leaves his loving family Irene, wife of 67 years, son John (Norma), daughter Terry, and grandchildren Jayzee, Dustin (Tracy), Chris (Sheila), great-granddaughter Kenzie, niece Maureen; nephews Danny, Tom, Ken and Kelly. Predeceased by his son Tommy Allan, sisters Evelyn, Bernice and parents Thomas and Gladys.
Tom was a member of the Shrine club and is responsible for initiating and building the go carts that they use to this day. He also raced cars between 1964 and 1977, beginning at Westwood, racing a 1965 Shelby Ford Mustang earning him the title of the “most winningest Shelby driver.” He was inducted into the Victoria Auto Racing Hall of Fame.
A special thank you to Dr. Naicker for his excellent and compassionate care. Tom had many close friends over the years that have been extremely supportive through this difficult time. Tom will be remembered by many for years to come.
