Bud passed peacefully in Nanaimo at age 89 after a long illness. He was born in Vancouver and spent his later growing up years in Nanaimo with his mother and half brother Jim.
He worked as a welder at various logging camps then settled in Holberg.
He retired to acreage in Nanoose Bay and spent many a happy hour with his beloved schnauzer Jiggs and his old backhoe he called dirty girty. He enjoyed morning coffee in town with the "boys", playing bingo and crib; once getting a 29 hand.
Predeceased by his second wife Roma; Bud will be fondly remembered by his longtime companion, Noreen; his brother Jim; his four children Rick, Leslee, Terry (Don), and Susan (Dave); eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
