On September 24, 2018 Tara Perkins (nee Lansdell) peacefully slipped away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She leaves behind her loving husband Alan, young son Matthew, parents Gary and Joan, brother Aron (Sue) and many more family and friends that loved her.
Tara was raised in Nanoose and enjoyed taking her first art lessons from local artists. She also played on some of the first Oceanside girl soccer teams. Later she played on the University of Victoria and Capilano teams. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts and art diplomas, Tara started her own business "Chalk of the Town". She met Alan and spent the last two decades in the Nanaimo area creating, running, golfing, and enjoying all the kayaking adventures they had together.
Tofino held a special place in Tara's heart. She loved walking the beaches and afterwards warming her feet at the fire with those who were closest to her.
Tara will be dearly missed and thought of often.
