It is with great sadness that the families of Tammy Joanne Surgenor announce her sudden passing on Monday, March 4th, 2019, at the age of 47, in Campbell River, BC. Her two incredible son's Wyatt and Gabe who she was so proud of and absolutely adored will miss Tammy dearly. Also left to mourn her tremendous loss, are her mom Karen Lawrence, Mike Surgenor, sister Jennifer Ritchie (Glen), nieces Mercedes and Madisson, Wendy and Al Hanaka and nephew Graham, Auntie Jo, Life Long Loyal Friends Brenda, Deanna, Candace, Holly, Judy and Karen as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Tammy was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and spent her childhood in Gold River, then Campbell River, where she lived the remaining part of her life. Tammy graduated from Southgate Secondary, and spent many years working at Save-on Foods, where she made many great friends. When Tammy was growing up she enjoyed many sports, including street hockey, swimming, and softball; playing rep on the Brats. During her summers, she worked at Ole's Fish Camp, in Hakai Pass, where she made amazing memories with Brenda and Deanna. Tammy wore her heart on her sleeve; she was compassionate, empathetic and accepting, so it was no surprise that she had so many amazing friends. She loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing with her boys, collecting sea glass, and endless walks with her beautiful loyal black lab, Maxwell. Tammy loved all of earth's beauty and creatures, teaching her boys the wonder of all nature; including wood bugs and instilling her witty humor and kindness.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. We will miss you and love you always. Until we meet again . . .
There will be a celebration of life on Friday, March 15th at 10:30 am, at the Oyster Bay Resorts, 4357 South Island Highway, Campbell River, BC. The Burial will follow at 1:00 at Elk Falls Cemetery, located at 6400 Gold River Hwy.
