In Loving Memory ~

On April 22, 2024 at 8.07 am Sue peacefully took her last breath with her 'little girl' at her side in the CR Hospital. In her last few days, there were many special visits with family and a few close friends.

We are sure Sue is smiling, happy and celebrating in heaven with her partner (Tom - Hugh Thomas Miller), her Mom and Dad (Lillian Dorothy and Joseph Andre Duval), and her son-in-law (Gordon Alan Poole).

Sue is deeply missed by her family; daughter Brenda Poole, son Andy Page, brothers Daniel Duval (Betty), Maurice (Carlene) Duval, grandchildren Tyler (Darnell) Bergen, Stephanie (Bob) Poole, Tonya Poole (Wesley), Ava, Sophia and Dallas, great grandson Nash, nephews and nieces Becky Duval, Andy Duval (Tanya), Jason Duval, Lisa (Mike) Alexander, Clifford (Brittney) Duval, great nephews and great nieces Sam, Jaime, Cameron, Chloe, Daunte, Sophie, Nathan, Julianna, William, extended family David Page, the Page/Normand, McGee and Miller families.

Sue had a lengthy battle with health issues, but this woman with 9 lives was able to have some wonderful moments in her retirement, some of which is when she spent time in Ontario with Tom and the Miller family, who she loved dearly.

Genealogy was a passion for Sue, she visited many cemeteries in Canada, Europe and the UK. This interest must have been for a reason, as eventually it was found that there was a half brother in the family, who sadly had already passed. She felt so happy and lucky to have been found by the McGee part of our family and treasured the relationship she had with them.

Sue had a variety of jobs through the years, in a typing pool, working in human resources at a bank in New Brunswick and at a mine in Quebec. She spent some time working at the local CR radio station back in the day and made some longtime friends there with great memories. Somewhere in her working career she was a laborer at the pulp mill...she hated that job!

Sue eventually started working at her long-term employment at the CR Hospital and worked in different areas including staffing and HR, eventually finishing her career of many years at Yuculta Lodge. It is at this time that she met and started working with Janice Sawatzky, who over the years became a very special friend to Sue. Two great souls found each other.

Sue also had lots of great memories of times and laughs with the wonderful people she worked together with over the years, all the gatherings, and relationships.

Over the past 15 years Sue has spent some time as a patient in the CR hospital as well. Her last months were spent peacefully in ward 3D. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to so many staff in the many departments at the CR Hospital for the care and compassion Sue was given.

A special thank you to River City Medical Clinic Dr's Grace, Robinson, and Klein. Nurse Lyndsay in Sue's last two evenings and last few hours, you were phenomenal.

We are celebrating Sue's life on Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Elk Falls Cemetery Cremation Centre on the Gold River Hwy, Campbell River B.C. from Noon to 2:00 pm. Come remember Sue with us, share some hugs, stories and memories. Everyone welcome. Light refreshments and snacks offered.
