Stephen Watson passed away peacefully at Chemainus Care Home on June 26th, aged 94 1/2. Steve was born December 26th in the small village of Aldworth, England, the last of a roisterous family of ten. He emigrated to Canada in 1952, and after a brief time in Ontario, he went out drinking, bought a new car, and so decided to head west.
Coal miner, mechanical engineer, novice monk, Avro assembly worker, welder, social worker, teacher, handyman, sailor, singer. Resident of Cowichan Station for 52 years. Member of the Cowichan Music Society, Shawnigan players, youth hostellers, and many choirs. Always with a song or story. Lovingly remembered by his wife Sheila and daughters Melanie and Julie.
