June 12, 1963 - November 10, 2023
In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness that the family of Scott Patterson announce his passing on November 10, 2023.
Scott was born in Nanaimo on June 12, 1963 to his proud parents Bonnie and David Patterson and big sister Colleen.
Much like his father, he was a natural athlete, taking up hockey, lacrosse, baseball, skiing and golf. Family was also a big part of Scott's life. He was happy playing in the woods and on the beach in Qualicum Beach where his maternal grandparents lived and he spent many summers fishing, boating and playing cards on Protection Island with the Patterson clan.
In his teens he developed a passion for music, with drums being his choice of instrument for many years. He loved to jam with his friends in his self-built, converted garage studio. Scott was a skilled and trusted carpenter, working on a variety of projects on Vancouver Island and in Alberta.
Scott thought the world of his mom and dad and he was especially proud of his nephew, Scott and niece, Sarah. He was not a man of many words but those who were close to him knew they were loved. In his later years, he sought a simpler, quieter life, enjoying living in Errington and spending time with a few good friends and his beloved Kitty.
His death was far too soon but he will live in our hearts forever. Scott is survived by his sister Colleen Malli (Brett), nephew Scott, niece Sarah, aunts, uncles, cousins and his dear friend Jane.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held at a later date.
Scott loved animals. If you would like to donate in his memory please send it to the Nanaimo BCSPCA. 154 Westwood Rd., Nanaimo, B.C. V9R 0G9. SPCA.bc.ca
