February 16, 1944 - December 10, 2019
Peggy had a grin, a twinkle in her eye, a special wit and time for everyone.
Peggy met Willie (the love of her life) in 1966, they married in 1967. The magical life for 53 years started right then including stays in California, trips to Mexico , Hawaii and a Kayak trip up the Athabaska River through the rapids to Fort MacMurray. They settled on a farm called Water Sheep Down where they learned to raise sheep, chickens and rabbits.
Peggy earned her doctorate of Psychology in 1971 and retired as an associate professor of Psychology at the University of Alberta .
After 15 years Peggy got itchy feet and in 1986 she and Willie moved to Union Bay, time to start the next adventure, and to take care of her parents.
Peggy loved her new home and immediately jumped into her new life. She joined the Comox Valley Golf Club and soon got very involved as a member of the ladies club. The golf club was where Peggy made lots of friends not just for golf, but friends for life. Peg loved to play cards and the little grin or twinkle in her eye was always there for all her "Besties" , win or lose!
Peggy joined and eventually became a leader at Weight Watchers.
Peggy and Willie moved to Comox to live in her dream home in 2011 and to be closer to the club and many friends.
Peggy will be sadly missed by her sister Pat Wilson of Lumby B.C. and her brother Bill Joinson (Judi) of Edmonton, AB. as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and all of her special friends.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband Willie and both of her parents.
Peggy was lovingly taken care at home by her sister Pat for six months and her brother Bill and his wife Judi for three months at the end of her life.
Special thanks to Dr Green, Dr. Braise and staff at the 5th St. Family Practice, the staff at Loblaws Pharmacy at Johns lndependant Grocers, the Doctors, Nurses, caregivers at North Island Hospital Cancer Care ward, the wonderful Homecare Nurses and all the people who have been so kind and helpful to Peggy through this difficult time.
