In loving memory ~

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of our beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle and friend

Paul Albert de Roy van Zuydewijn. He was predeceased by his mother Gerardine, father Charles, stepfather Albert, brothers Carli, Eddie, Joop, Lou, Robbie, and sisters Eppie, Carla, and Theresia.

Survived by his loving wife Kathleen of 54 years, daughters Gina, Nadine (Joss), Danielle (Ed), Sarah, and only son Jason (Sara). His brother Rene, sister in laws Nesta and Betsy as well as many nieces and nephews.

Paul had a deep love for the outdoors. He looked forward to his many fishing and hunting adventures. Most of his days were spent outside, constantly tending to his garden and grounds.

A millwright by trade he spent 22 years at Mac & Bloedel Chemainus then Canadian White Pine, Mill & Timber and S & R sawmills retiring at the age of 72. We are forever grateful for his devotion to his family, exemplary work ethic, determination and ambition. He was a provider in every way, always wanting the best for his family. He would often be heard saying "If there's a will, there's a way".

He has left a wonderful legacy for his children and grandchildren and was surrounded by family during his last moments .

His faith was steadfast and when reflecting on his life would say "Thanks be to God". You will be forever loved and missed.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the kidney foundation, operation smile or St. Ann's Catholic church Duncan.

A special thanks to Dr. Wenzel-Smith
