Pat was the eldest of 5 children born on February 19, 1943, in the mining community of Cumberland BC. She grew up playing basketball, being part of Jobes daughters and the United Church choir. Pat loved singing and music and had a beautiful voice. She was known for playing the accordion for guests in our home. Pat taught herself to play the piano later on in life and was known for playing the organ at Jobes and Eastern Star gatherings. Pat was also a designer of clothing; she could put an outfit together from scratch anytime. She also learned to crochet, and many family members received the result of her efforts. Anything Pat decided to take on she did very well. Pat took on the challenge of becoming one of the first women firefighters on Vancouver Island, along with her best friend Patti Clark. Pat also had many jobs in her lifetime, bartender, cook, nanny, etc. But mostly she loved being a grandma, and auntie. She was known for her great laugh and enjoying a good time while enjoying a beverage.
Due to the influence of her father, Pat was involved in many community organizations including Eastern Star and The Legion and she was always willing to help others.
Pat had many health issues over the years, but her spirit kept her going, no matter what was trying to stop her. Now, she can rest and be at peace with no more pain.
