Patricia J. Dorn, age 70, of Port Alberni, British Columbia passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Born in Port Alberni BC on October 22,1951 to Rudolf and Isabella and passed away suddenly after a very brief illness.
Pat was a stay-at-home mom raising 3 boys that kept her busy. She welcomed many of the boys friends into her home and would often host big breakfasts on the weekends. She was the mom that anyone could call for a ride at anytime. Her boys were her life. She worked as a casual dispatcher and later as an attendant at a bingo hall.
Pat was one a kind. She played ladies ball as pitcher for Echo Toyota. She also played mix slo-pitch. She pounded the ball but always would say how her feet weren't fast enough for more than a single/double. She had her fair share of line drives, she was a tough lady. She was part of the local dart league and enjoyed playing bingo. She was a fan of sports and would never miss her Canucks or Blue Jays. She would go to her boy's soccer, baseball and hockey games well into their adult lives. She was the score keeper at the ball field and ran the concession because she enjoyed the sport so much. She was a home body who enjoyed her movies but loved to come out to watch the grandkids sporting events or dance shows.
Pat leaves behind her partner of 28 years Don Hynes, her children Pudge (Janet), Kevin (Tracy), Darren (Vesna). Grandkids Brandon, Karissa, Gage, Ashlee, Brooklyn, Joel and many nieces and nephews. Her siblings Rudy, Lenny (Deb), Brian (Trudy), Georgie (Al) Nelson, Heather Johnson, Janette Johnson, Ralph Johnson, George Johnson (Mel), Reg Lainson and her dogs, Bentley and Rosey.
Pat was predeceased by her mother Isabella (1988), her father Rudolf (2000), niece Paula Nelson (2008) and sister-in-law Jackie Knoll (2013).
A celebration of life will be held 2:00pm until 4:00pm on November 20th at the Cherry Creek Hall
