June 19, 2021
We are mourning the loss of Normie Joan Morton, who peacefully passed away on June 19th, 2021 with her loved ones by her side. Beloved wife of the late Terrance Edward Wildeman, she is survived by her children - Raquel (Charles), Ingrid, and Lee, as well as her mother - Kay McMillen, grandchildren - Ariel, Kaylee, Parker and Ava.
A dedicated employee of Canada Post for over 40 years, she developed relationships with customers on her route that often turned into lifelong friendships. Friendly to all those who crossed her path, she was always quick to strike up a conversation, and had a special ability to make those around her feel truly loved. A free spirit and an adventurer at heart, she travelled to dozens of countries, loved music, and sharing stories about her exciting life. The world has truly lost one of its brightest and most beautiful lights, and Normie will be dearly missed by her family and the many friends she made in her exciting life.
Her family would like to thank the amazing staff at Chemainus Health Care Centre for their compassion and care during her struggle with dementia.
A celebration of Normie's life will be planned when friends and family can safely gather again.
"Well if you want to sing out, sing out And if you want to be free, be free 'Cause there's a million things to be You know that there are"
- Cat Stevens
