October 29, 1923 - November 5, 2021
It is with deep sorrow that we say goodbye to our beloved Muriel, but we know she is at peace with God.
Muriel was born in Victoria, B.C but lived most of her life in the Comox Valley.
She is predeceased by her much loved husband, Ben (his shopping canary) six brothers, seven sisters, grandson, David. Survived by and so missed by her loving, faithful sister, Doreen (Evaldo) and brother Allen (Kay), forever grateful son, Ray (Joy), daughter Judy, grandchildren, Tassie, Clint (Michelle), Christopher, Jason, eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren (they lit up her life), brother-in-law, Bill - so many adoring nieces and nephews (as Bet would say- love you to the moon and back).
Mom loved to sing and won many competitions in her young day. She sang in the North Island choir and St. George's United Church choir for many years. She spent many enjoyable hours doing her beautiful crochet/knitting.
She so loved her family and friends, hosting many potluck gatherings- she made the best baked beans ever.
She served her country (Army Veteran), belonged to Courtenay/Cumberland Legion, Filberg Senior's Centre, Cumberland OAP, long time member of St. George's United Church, UCW, prayer shawl group.
When asked about her secret to long life she would say it was her faith, family/friends and Ponds skin cream.
She was amazing!
There will be a Memorial Service at St. George's United Church on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donation to St. George's or Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated
