In Loving Memory ~
Our beloved Miguel was born in Penticton BC to Jack and Linda Fernandes joining his older sisters Wendy, Amie and Peggy.
From the earliest days Miguel showed us how funny, vivacious, sincere, dedicated, and loving he was. Miguel was a gifted athlete; whether he was skiing, snowboarding, or golfing. Miguel especially loved baseball where he met many of his great lifelong friends.
Miguel was always happy outdoors whether he was deep in the snowy mountains or fishing our local waters. One of the few people who could do anything and do it well whether you needed a builder, mechanic, mason, or friend, Miguel was the first person to show up.
Miguel found the good in everyone and he'll be remembered by all as loving, generous, and charismatic with a signature smile that lit up the world.
As a father, Miguel always made a point of making memories with the kids. He loved to take them fishing either on the boat or on the side of a river, up the mountain trying to teach three little kids to ski at the same time, long nature walks, weekend camping trips, kicking the soccer ball or throwing a baseball.
He made time for the kids even in his busiest moments and included them every time he was completing a new renovation and working on his truck or their bikes. He loved his children fiercely and will forever be their champion.
Left behind to forever love and remember him are his cherished wife and best friend Amanda who in his words "made him a better person", his amazing children Mila, Lydia, and Adler; his loving parents, Jack and Linda Fernandes and his sisters Wendy (Paulo), Amie (Mike), and Peggy (PJ).
He was deeply loved by his in-laws, Paul and Linda O'Brennan, Mariah (Chris), Chantal (Mark), Jasmine (Josh), Abel (Amanda), Garnet (Jen) and many nieces and nephews.
Our family is humbled by the generous outpouring of support and love for Miguel. We wish to recognize the unparalleled care given to Miguel and our family by Harbour View Medical Centre in Seattle and the support given by Miguel's work colleagues at IMP Group and Comox Search and Rescue.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Go Fund Me account set up to support Amanda and the children.
