Marshall Evans (Marsh) passed away Sunday evening, May 30th, after his struggle with the effects from Pneumonia and Cancer. He leaves his wife, Valerie, one daughter and two sons, one son having died in 2019.
Marsh was proud to be one of the first group to be trained as a pilot by NATO after World War II. He moved from Regina with his family in the 60's and bought a plastic bag manufacturing company, Modern Packaging, where he made a huge success after lots of hard work and ingenuity.
Due to his severe arthritis he was forced to sell Modern Packaging so in 1991 he enrolled at SAIT to study Electronics. He graduated at age 65 with Honours and a job offer from Minolta.
He met Val in 2005 and they were married a year later. Val was 72 and Marsh was 76. Val was an avid hiker so Marsh retired from Minolta so he could join the fun. With the hiking group they travelled in Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.
They moved to Vancouver Island in 2010 where they had a busy life with Newcomers. Due to failing health they decided to return to Calgary to be with Family.
