It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mom Margie at the age of 87. She passed away at Rainbow Gardens with family by her side.
Margie was predeceased by her husband Gordie, parents Walter & Helen Latta, brothers Dave (Sandy) and Walter (Hope) Latta, sisters Janie and Diana Latta and nephew Chris Latta.
Survived by her loving family; son Gordie, daughters Janice (Shane) Leavitt, Susan (Mike) Booth. Grandchildren Caitlin, Jordan (Kathleen) Booth, Spencer Pierce. Great grandchild Stella Booth, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Mom was born in Springhill Nova Scotia, the oldest of six kids. She went on to study nursing in Halifax, met her future husband Gordie and they moved out west in 1959 to Prince Rupert and than onto Port Alberni in 1964. Mom enjoyed her career as an RN helping to deliver many babies at the old WCGH. She was a member of the Royal Purple and RCMP Ladies Auxiliary plus many other organizations.
Mom enjoyed boating and fishing down the canal with dad and friends, plus she had many hobbies which included quilting, sewing, card making and looking after her flower gardens.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Daryl Lund, the staff of WCGH and Rainbow Gardens for their wonderful care of our mom.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
