In Loving Memory ~
On September 21, 2023, Louise Shockey, (b. 1957) returned to the place she came from...Heaven.
Most people knew our beautiful Louise from a friendly chat at a trade show, a chance meeting at Thrifty's or from the yoga or dance classes she taught for 30 years, but those meetings were enough for those who met her, to recognize that she had a unique way of making everyone around her feel good...simply through her presence.
She "saw" everyone.
But only those close to her, family and friends truly understood what a remarkable woman she was. At once supportive but also, fiercely independent, and talented.
Although she was an international model, movie actress, performer with Les Ballet Jazz and Les Ballet Russ, television host and accomplished singer, Louise's greatest goal in life, was to be the best friend to her one true love, best mother to her two children and best "Nana" to her four grandchildren.
She accomplished her goal.
Those close to her, her husband of 39 years, Jim and their two children, Branlin and Eva and their four children, Leni Bow, Flynn, Boone and Wilder, had time to prepare for this eventuality, but also know they can never really prepare for the days and years ahead without their soulmate, their mother and their precious Nana Weezy.
Louise's family finds solace in having had this angel on earth a part of their life for so long; they have been truly blessed.
The world was never meant for one as beautiful as Louise Shockey.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to consider making a donation to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation, a cause that Louise was passionate about and supported for many years.
