It is with broken hearts and unbearable sadness that we must announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother Katie.
Kate was born at King's Daughters' Hospital in Duncan, BC.
Kate passed away peacefully with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Commonly called "Kathleen The Queen" and we all obeyed her commands. She loved the outdoors looking for mushrooms, wildflowers for designing her garden beds. She also took great pride in remodeling her home.
Kate had many jobs in the past, the most recent was working for the Town of Lake Cowichan. She designed some of the newer gardens and very proud of them. The town of Lake Cowichan is looking to name her favorite park in honor of her. It will be called "Queen Kate Park"
She leaves to mourn her loving partner Perry Quaale of 28 years. Her four Sons Michael (Brooke), John (Jeanann), Steven (Stephanie), Jeff (Colleen) and her love for her grandchildren was enormous they were the love of her life. Tyra, Jordyn, Lexus, Mikayla, Kira, Isabella, Arianna, Addyson, Jackson, Karter, Ryan and expected twins girlboy in November. Also leaves to mourn her father Jack West (Betty), her mother Nancy Middlemiss (Dennis), siblings Sheryl West, Brenda Clarke (Bacon), Rhonda Mellings (Carl), Debbie Lebitschnig (Ed), John West (Michelle).

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 16, 2018 - 1:00pm at Sahtlam Fire Hall.
