John passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family after a brief battle with leukemia. Predeceased by his parents, Evan and Cecille, John is survived by Judy, his wife of 43 years, son Dax, daughter-in-law Jenn, and granddaughter Kaylee, as well as numerous Albertan Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Born in Alberta, John moved to the Cowichan Valley in 1984 and became a fixture in the community as a small business owner and a member of a wide variety of groups: Scouting, Scottish Country Dancing, RC Racing, Croquet, and Cowichan Search and Rescue. John loved travelling, snorkeling, going RV camping, and mountain biking.

Thank you to Dr. Szabo, Community Nursing, and Home Support for everything they did for John. He will be greatly missed, and the Valley will see fewer colourful outfits.

Per John's request, no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers a donation could be made to a charity of your choice.
