It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jan Couture. Born in Nanaimo on February 12, 1950, Jan passed away at NRGH on December 4, 2020 at the age of 70.
A lifelong Nanaimo area resident, Jan was the youngest of two daughters born to Edna and Willis (Hoppy) Hoppus. Jan grew up in Cedar, later settling in the Chase River area where, together with her husband Ernie, they raised their family. In later years she moved to North Nanaimo.
Jan enjoyed baking, cooking, sunny days at the waterfront with her dog, Katie, and most of all spending time with her family. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
Jan was predeceased by her parents, her sister Patricia, and her daughter Monique. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ernie Couture, daughter Nadine (John), son Brent, and grandchildren Braeden and Keira.
