It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordie Glennie. He had a short battle with cancer before the Lord took him home.
Gordie passed peacefully with his wife by his side. He will be sadly missed by his wife Marlene of 48 years, daughters Michelle, Teresa (Ken), son Raymond, 4 grandchildren Courtnie, Cody, Marissa, and Trevor, as well as several very special friends.
Gordie was born in Winnipeg Manitoba, moved with his family to Vancouver BC in 1949. He married the love of his life in 1969.
Gordie was a Dental Techinician who opened his own Dental Lab; but later sold it to move to Vancouver Island (Comox) to raise his 3 children.
Gordie loved life and all it had to offer but he was best known for "tinkering" in his workshop.
We would like to express heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and careaids at Comox Valley Hospice. The last 2 weeks have been particularly difficult - we feel so blessed to have been surrounded by so much kindness and compassion.
Celebration of life will be held at the Courtenay Baptist Church, 2963 Lake Trail Road, at 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 14th, 2017.
Anyone wishing to make a donation in Gordies' memory are invited to do so to the Evangelical Free Church building fund.
