It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Gary Cohoe; son, brother ,uncle, father and grandfather. Born in St.Thomas, Ontario to Joyce (Gorton) Berdan and the late Edward Cohoe.
Gary is survived by his former wife Sylvia Stace-Smith, mother Joyce, brothers Brian and Stephen, sisters Kathye and Cheryl, His son Gary and daughter Amy with granddaughters Zoe and Isabella. As well as several nieces and nephews; Sandon, Colin and Aaron, Sammy and Abby, Clayton and Bailey.
Moving to British Columbia in the mid-seventies, he met and married wife Sylvia and ultimately settled in Nanaimo to raise his family on Vancouver Island. For over thirty years he was Owner/Service Engineer with business partner Joe Marlowe, of Marlowe Marine Service , in Port Alberni.
Gary's easy manner and sense of humour endeared him to friends, neighbours and business associates alike. The simplest pleasures in life like; swimming at the Aqua Centre first thing in the morning, listening to CBC radio daily, reading Tom Clancy novels, playing cribbage, and watching his beloved San Francisco 49er's football, brought him the greatest joy.
In accordance with Gary's wishes there will be no service. A cremation has taken place.
Gary left us too soon and will be sorely missed and remembered fondly by family and all who knew him.
