It is with heartfelt sadness to announce the death of Florence Repesse who peacefully passed away on September 1, 2021 in Nanaimo, BC at the age of 91.
Florence is survived by her son Gary Repesse, daughter Sharon Solsbury (Repesse), son-in-law Chris Solsbury, granddaughters Allison Macri (Vancouver) and Olivia Sigouin (Macri) in Parksville, grandson-in-law James Sigouin; great-grandchild Jaxon Sigouin, cousin Ed Sandland and his wife Donna (Nanaimo) and nephew Ritchie Fulla (Nanaimo). She is preceded in death by husband Allen Repesse, mother Gladys Hancock and father Ralph Hancock of Nanaimo.
Florence was born on May 3, 1930 in Nanaimo, BC to Gladys and Ralph Hancock. She graduated from John Shaw High School in 1948 and subsequently worked as a cashier at Malpas & Wilson in Nanaimo.
She loved to dance and swim and it was at a dance where she met and eventually married Allen Repesse on February 28, 1958. It wasn't long before they started a family and by the end of 1960 they had two children who they raised with absolute love and devotion.
Mom dedicated her life as a full time homemaker. Family was extremely important and meant everything to Florence. She was a kind, gentle, personable, patient and beautiful woman and everyone who met her felt her loving nature.
The family would like to thank the staff at Nanaimo Seniors Village for all their efforts, care and support over the last few years giving Mom comfort and peace.
