It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn announce her passing on July 23, 2022, at the age of 89 years. Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband, Dennis Viklund; her son Chris Viklund; her daughter Kelley Viklund; and her brother, George Schner. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Cindy (Gary) and Sharon (Rob); her daughter-in-law, Donna (Ken); her son-in-law, Vince; her eight grandchildren; her two great grandchildren; and her brother Joe Schner.
Evelyn was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent her formative years there before marrying Dennis. After a few moves with the military, they ended up in the Comox Valley where they resided since 1970, with their four children. Evelyn was a member of the CWL for many years. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards with friends, but her grandchildren always came first.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Glacier View Lodge, and all their staff and care aids for the care they provided to Evelyn during her stay there.
