Elisabeth died peacefully at Astoria Residence in Nanaimo on September 28, 2018. She was born in Switzerland and grew up on a dairy farm in the Swiss Alps. In the mid
1950's Elisabeth emigrated to Canada with her husband Walter. They settled in Tsawwassen where they raised four children in the house with the big garden on 53A Street. After Walter's death, Elisabeth moved to Nanaimo where she spent happy years with many family visits, road trips and celebrations.
Elisabeth was a kind, generous and gentle person. No stray dog, cat or plant would go untended if Elisabeth found them. She was a keen observer and had a quiet wit. She loved to be surrounded by her children at family celebrations. A celebration with flowers, a beautiful cake and a glass of wine was always welcome in Elisabeth's house.
She is dearly missed by her children Konrad (Linda), Anne, Walter (Jane) and Maurice (Norma) and her granddaughter Freya.
The family will hold a private memorial service. If you wish, a donation can be made to the SPCA in Elisabeth's name.
