August 16, 1929 - May 10, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Edward Andrew Lorne Fleming, on May 10, 2024. He was known as Lorne by his friends and as Grandpa the Miracle Man to his family. Lorne was born on Aug 16, 1929, in Storthoaks, Saskatchewan to Norman and Irene Fleming.

Lorne and Shirley (Flamme) were married on Oct 29, 1951, In Carnduff, Saskatchewan. After the wedding, they travelled by bus to Regina to start their new life together. Lorne worked for the D.E.W Line and they later moved to Saskatoon where he worked for Saskatchewan Power. In 1966 they moved to North Vancouver where he worked for BC Hydro, working all through BC, eventually settling in Duncan. Lorne loved boats and had many throughout the years. Canoes to Canoe Coves. Lorne obtained his private pilot's licence in 1976 and one of his favourite planes was the CJ6 (YAK). His trusty rusty C180 would probably disagree.

Shirley and Lorn enjoyed flying to Mexico, Arizona and California with lots of trips to the mainland to visit their children and grandchildren. There were many trips for coffee to Victoria, Chilliwack and Boundary Bay with his flying friends at the Duncan Flying Club. Lorne loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and prawning.

Lorne is predeceased by his loving son, Bob, his brother Lowell, sisters Shirley Bayerle and Norma Wood.

Lorne is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, daughter Dianne (Barry) Boucher and their children Andrew and Amy, daughter-in-law Monica, and her and Bob's children, Jeffrey and Aubrey and many nieces and nephews.

A heartfelt thank you to his best buddy, Steve (Kim) Holmes.

A gathering will be held at a later date.
