May 13, 1955 - October 25, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Ed Barr announce his passing on Oct. 25, 2021 after fighting for years with great courage against prostate cancer.
According to his wishes, Ed passed away at home in Ladysmith, B.C. Ed was born in Nanaimo, B.C to his parents, Alpha and "Red" Barr.
Like his father, Ed was proud of being a hard-working man. He spent the majority of his working years at the Harmac Pacific work site. Ed worked as a heavy-duty equipment operator and trainer and was known by many as the #1 chip cat operator.
He was also proud to have continued in his family's trucking footsteps by operating E. Barr Trucking for a period of time.
Ed was passionate about his family, motorcycles, cars, music, and dogs. Ed was also well known for his wonderful sense of humour, which he kept intact to the end.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Red and Alpha, and his brother, Jim.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughters, Jen (Joe), Karly (Tyler); grandsons, Isaac, Brayden, and Austin; sisters, Lavina (Ken, predeceased), and Leslie (Harry); as well as his many wonderful and much-loved cousins (you know who you are), extended family members, and cherished life-long friends.
Loved best by them all, Ed will be lovingly remembered.
Due to covid, a small family celebration-of-life will be held.
