Douglas Russell Beatty Born April 17th 1943 in Vancouver B.C. Passed away peacefully at The Royal Jubilee Cardiac Unit Feb 14th 2019. Doug had many health challenges over the past two years and is now at peace.

Doug was predeceased by his parents Ethel Beatty (nee Brown) and J.C. Russell (Russ) Beatty.

He is survived by his sister Donna (Ross) Grant of Crofton,B.C. And his brother Dr. Kenneth (Ken) Beatty of St. John's Newfoundland. Nephew Andrew (Barb) Grant; Grandnephew William Grant and Grandniece Fiona Grant of Crofton. B,C. And nephew Ian (Sandra) Grant of Victoria B.C.

Doug is also survived by his ex-wife Linda Beatty. (nee McCabe) They were together for 20 years and still maintained a friendship.

After a career in the R.C.A.F. As an electrical technician Doug tried his hand at a number of things before settling on working as a Private Eye with Wayne Rushton at Glacier-View Investigative Services Inc. Doug had a love of music and enjoyed singing in various choirs over the years.

He enjoyed travel and went on several road trips with good friend Al Wedel down through the States and up to Alaska. He rode the Rocky Mountaineer and cruised through the Panama Cannal. He had a knack for photography and put together some great photo collages reflecting the history of the Beatty Family.

Doug was a loving son and took good care of both of his aged parents at the end of their lives.

Doug will be missed by his siblings and his many friends in the Comox Valley.

A celebration of Doug's life will be held for friends and family at a date to be announced.

Those wishing to do so may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice in Doug's name.
