Born in Weyburn Saskatchewan to parents William Douglas Ferguson and Mary Jane "Mae" Davidson. Predeceased by his parents, his sister Virginia Marjorie "Dargie" and his son Robert "Bobby" Leslie Douglas.

He is survived by his loving wife Jennifer; his children Sandie, Julie and Dan; his grandchildren Danielle, Blake, Janel, Lachlan, Marshall, Anneliese, Aidan and Haele; his six great-grandchildren; and his very special and loved extended family Owen, Janet, Beth, and Emily.

Godfrey instilled in his family a great sense of laughter and humour. He was a marvelous storyteller and was known to the young and old children as "The Master of Magic" and a musician. He also created wonderful and delectable "Saucy Chef" hot sauces. Godfrey was not afraid to try new things. He worked at many jobs in his life, including working in a tannery, driving truck, the family restaurant "The Barn", welder, machinist, heavy equipment operator, and his ultimate passion...a teacher. He was a member of the Malahat Masonic Lodge, Mill Bay and the Cowichan Valley Chapter of the Vintage Car Club.

A celebration of Godfrey's life will be held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 486 Jubilee St., Duncan on December 22, 2018 at 11 am. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cowichan Hospice Society's Hospice House Project in his name would be most appreciated, or to a charity of your choice.
