April 28, 1940 - September 16, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlotte J. Solomon. Charlotte died peacefully with family at her side on Thursday September 16, 2020 after a steady decline in health due to pulmonary hypertension.
She will be sorrowfully missed by Vern Black, her partner in love for 40 years. She leaves behind her children, Leah Solomon (Terrie), David Solomon and Cheryl Argento.
She was a proud grandmother to Ashley and Stan (Sydney) Carmody, Mark and Frances Argento, Joel and Hayley Black, Matthew and Robert Davis. Charlotte was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Elizabeth (Betty) Stewart. She is survived by her siblings, Mary, Kenneth, Catherine and Gordon.
After years of building a life together in Calgary, Charlotte and Vern retired in 2000 and settled in the Qualicum Beach Eaglecrest community where they built wonderful friendships. While in good health they traveled abroad and developed a love of cruising.
Charlotte will be remembered for her love of entertaining. She enjoyed making meals and baking and opened her home to many for dinner and coffee hour.
In her later years, Charlotte enjoyed reading, crocheting her famous blankets and knitting hats and scarves. Her good humor, robust laughter, and love of story-telling during lengthy telephone visits will be a huge void to all those who knew and loved her.
Family would like to thank Dr. George, nurse Sarah and dedicated staff at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital and nurse Jane in the Palliative Care Unit for their outstanding care during Charlotte's last days.
Following her wishes, Charlotte will be cremated and there will be no service.
Rest in peace Granny....
