It is with a heavy heart that we would like to announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" Kinney on February 6, 2022.
Chuck is survived by his son Jonathan and daughter-in-law Tracey. He was predeceased by his dear wife Jean.
Chuck was a loving father and devoted husband. He was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, and never afraid of hard work.
He managed Chemainus and District Credit Union for 20 years and was very active in the revitalization of that community in the 1980s.
He was also very involved with St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church where he and Jean had been members since 1979. He even wrote a history of the Church detailing the extensive and fascinating history of the Church and its relationship with the Cowichan Valley.
And even though he moved to the Mainland in 2018 to be closer to Jonathan, he always remembered his time at St. Andrew's fondly.
There will be a small family ceremony in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of BC would be appreciated.
