It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our sister on 12th October 2018 at the age 74 in Duncan B.C. After a long illness, she is now finally at peace. We are grateful to the Cowichan Regional Hospital for her care. Predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Cynthia, Margot is survived by her two brothers, Edward (Ted) Izard and John Izard.

She was a truly dynamic person who taught for 8 years, then took on a varied career of music, song writing and "co-operative" radio. Along the way, she loved to travel, especially in Europe and North Africa where she worked as a trilingual receptionist, proof reader as well being an "itinerate shawl seller" in Portugal. Returning to Canada, she then tried her hand at logging, prospecting and later graphic design for mining companies.

She was a strong activist with a passion to support causes for those less fortunate. She was an ardent supporter of civil liberties and had an insatiable curiosity about learning new things on her computer. Until 2016, she spent 8 years being "the face behind camera", recording the Duncan Council Meetings.

She grew up in Victoria and attended Norfolk House, Oak Bay High School and Strathcona Lodge. Later she attended UVIC where she received Bachelor of Education Degree in 1966. She was an accomplished pianist having completed the Toronto Conservatory of Music grade IX level.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday 17th November 2018 at 2 pm at the Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan BC. Please come and join us to celebrate Margot's life.
