September 6, 1952 - December 4, 2021
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Bonnie Heather (Lewis) Welsh. She died peacefully in her sleep after a short bout with cancer. We thank the staff at Campbell River and Royal Jubilee hospitals for the compassionate and excellent care they provided.
Bonnie will be remembered by her proud daughters Marce, Michelle and Crystal, her beloved grandchildren Brandyn, Paige, Vanessa and Jessica, her beautiful great-grandson Hudson and her loving longtime partner Malcolm. She will also be missed by her siblings Gail, Jean (Tom), Shirley, Bill, Bob (Vera), Alec (Rennie) and Norm.
Bonnie was born in Toronto in 1952. She moved to the island in 1977, first landing in Sayward then finding her forever home in CR in 1984. She quickly fell in love with the beauty of small-town living. To the occasional dismay of her children, a short outing could sometimes take hours as she stopped to talk to everyone she encountered. Bonnie's outgoing, bubbly personality charmed many, quickly turning strangers into friends. Her quirky sense of humour, loving and generous spirit, and the sweet innocence she maintained through her 69 years will be greatly missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life service 11am on December 28 at Christian Life Church, 445 Merecroft Rd, Campbell River. Proof of vaccination is required.
For those who wish, donations can be made to the Beacon Club (beaconclub.ca).
