Beverly Joan Cathers (nee Best)

Bev passed peacefully October 10, 2018. She was born to the late Stanley Best and Hilda Best in Chemainus, BC on August 9th, 1941. Bev is survived by her husband of 56 years, David, her children, Paul (Rachel), Kim (Richard), Chrisy, Ron and her seven grandchildren Kai, Kinsey, Nic, George, Elyse, Kristian and Sophia. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. Family and friends were Bev’s love and delight – along with Pepper – her faithful pup.

Bev was an active member in her community and was a twenty year plus volunteer with the Canadian Arthritis Society. She was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served four terms as President of the Duncan Branch #53.

Diagnosed with liver cancer over 5 years ago, Bev never gave up. She never complained and maintained a brave, positive outlook of an optimistic future.

A special thank you to the healthcare team at Cairnsmore Place for the loving and exceptional care she received.

A celebration of life will be held at Duncan Eagles Hall, Saturday, December 8th from 1 – 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Bev to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation in support of New Hospital Building Fund.”
