Betty Annie Weismiller (nee Morgan) of Duncan, BC passed away September 27, 2021 at Victoria General Hospital
Betty is predeceased by her loving husband Gary Weismiller and son-in-law Ray Lockhart. Survived by her son Doug (Kathy) Weismiller: daughters Shelley Lockhart, and Carol (Glen) Smith. 6 grandchildren - Eric, Angela, Amy, Kevin, Dustin, and Elena and 5 great grandchildren Kiera, Nathan, Norah, Lily and Gwen.
Mom was born in Cedar, BC on March 13, 1934. She grew up in a large farming family and was the youngest of 12 children. She was training as a nurse at the Solarium in Mill Bay when she met her best friend Nickie Granger. One day, while out together, Mom and Nickie caught the eye of a handsome musician in a flashy convertible. Mom jokingly said, "I'm going to marry the guy driving that car". Little did she know this would spark a lifelong romance and 63 years of marriage.
While raising 3 children, Mom still made the time to be involved in the community, teaching Sunday School and Messengers at the Duncan United Church. She had a passion and love for working with children and began working as a daycare provider, eventually returning to school and earning her Early Childhood Education degree. She worked at many centers within the valley but held a long-time position at Arcadian Daycare, loving and caring for so many children throughout the Cowichan Valley.
Her greatest love of all was being "Granny" to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They could always count on Granny to give the best hugs, have the best treats, and to be more than a little worried about their wellbeing.
Many of our best memories of Mom are of camping with the family. She loved tending her flowers, traveling with dad and always had a book in her hand.
Our family would especially like to thank the Cairnsmore Place staff for their loving care of Mom over these last few years.
While no service is planned at this time, please feel free to remember and honour Betty in your own way. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
