Andrew Angus Nicol

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Andrew Angus Nicol (95) who died on February 8, 2019 at the Nanaimo Seniors’ Village. He is predeceased by his wife of 62 years Agnes (Nan Goldie) Nicol and is survived by his daughter Deborah Nicol and his son Stuart Andrew Nicol. Angus has one remaining sister, Doreen Johnstone of Ft. Myers Florida.

Our father was from Kilmarnock Scotland born on November 30, 1923. He was one of seven children born to Andrew Nicol and Helen Barbour. Following his national service he moved to Canada in 1950, joined shortly afterwards by our mother and together they raised their 2 children in southern Ontario. They had a great love of dogs and were members of the Oakville Kennel Club. They also enjoyed Scottish Country Dancing.

Resettling in B.C. upon retirement, Dad joined the Nanaimo Power Squadron and later went on to become one of the Instructors. Dad also was invited to join the Shrine, enjoying the fellowship there for many years.

There will be no funeral service-his ashes will be interred at the Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, in Cedar B.C.
