Feb 1, 1935 – Aug 6, 2017

We celebrate the life of Amy Helen Campbell who passed away suddenly and peacefully on August 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. Amy will be deeply missed by her husband of 54yrs, Al, children Bruce (Wendi), Nancy (Brett), granddaughters Haleigh, Courtney and Danika as well as her sister Lydia. Amy worked as an X-Ray Tech at NRGH and Satellite Lab in Beaufort Centre until she retired in 1995. Amy made many contributions to her community including freelancing for the local Nanaimo papers, advocating for parkland at Neck Point and Linley Valley and writing a book about the history of the Nanaimo Concert Band. Amy could often be found with a book in her hand and a smile on her face or enjoying sunny days with Al in their convertible red sport car donning a visor atop her head. One of Amy’s greatest achievements was recently surpassing her 1000th workout at Curves. The hummingbirds that visited her feeder brought her many hours of joy and she had great compassion for all creatures great and small. Amy lived her life to the fullest remaining positive, upbeat and optimistic. A special thank you to all of moms friend’s at Curves for their kind, caring and compassionate support during her workouts. No service by request. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Amy’s memory to your local SPCA.
