September 8, 1932 - October 15, 2020

Allan died peacefully in Stanford Senior's Village, Parksville, after a lengthy illness. He was 88.

He is survived by his wife, Heather, who will miss him greatly; his brother, William (Wally) Watson of Victoria and by his sister, Gloria Gellert of Tacoma, Washington.

Allan was born in Victoria but spent the major part of his working life in Alberta as a lawyer in the Office of the Public Trustee. He and his wife, Heather, moved to the Oceanside area after he retired. He was a great volunteer and generously put his skills to use here in Parksville. He volunteered at OCAC, The Oceanside Community Arts Council now known as "The Mac". He re-wrote their by-laws and tirelessly worked to produce the "Blue Brochure". He also re-wrote the by-laws for the Parksville Lawn Bowling Club, and prior to that for the Calgary Rock and Alpine Garden Society.

Allan had many interests. He played the bassoon with the Cosmopolitan Music Society in Edmonton and the Westwinds Music Society in Calgary. As a young man his love of music extended to singing in church choirs as well as with the barbershop group, "The Village Squires" in Victoria. He also gardened and curled, and was active in Tai-Chi until the last two years of his life.

A memorial service will be held in the Oceanside area at a later date, hopefully in the spring. We need to find a safer time.

Donations in his memory can be made to Covenant House, Vancouver, BC.
