‘Resident Alien’ returns to Ladysmith to film third season

Motorists can expect temporary road closures downtown

Film crews are returning to Ladysmith to film the third season of Resident Alien, a sci-fi comedy TV show depicting an alien sent to Earth to wipe out humanity and who takes the identity of a physician.

From Friday, March 24, through to March 31, downtown Ladysmith will transform back into Patience, Colo. as production teams film in various locations along First Avenue and Roberts Street.

On March 24, the production will be using multiple parking lots and street parking around town including the Travellers Hotel parking lot, the Fisherman’s Wharf lot, the Roberts Street parking lot, the 900 block of Oyster Bay Drive, the 100 block of High Street, the 400 block of Second Avenue and the 100 block of Gatacre Street.

From Monday, March 27, to Wednesday, March 29, motorists can expect delays and temporary closures in filming areas downtown. Filming on most days will start mid-day and continue into late evening.

The film crew expects to wrap up production March 30-31 and public parking lots will reopen.
