A peace bond hearing for Nanaimo’s former chief administrative officer will not take place this week.
Tracy Samra, ex-city manager, was scheduled to appear in B.C. provincial court for a peace bond hearing on Oct. 5.
However, an application hearing on Monday resulted in Samra’s case being adjourned. The former CAO has recently hired a new lawyer, Glen Orris.
As a result, the next scheduled court date in Samra’s case will be on Nov. 13, where a new peace bond hearing date will be determined.
The B.C. Prosecution Service is seeking to have Samra, who was fired in May, bound to conditions of a peace bond, which stems from an incident on Jan 31 at city hall where she allegedly threatened multiple individuals, including Nanaimo Mayor Bill McKay.
Samra’s first hearing was originally scheduled for March 27 of this year, but has been moved multiple times since then.
