No fireworks permits will be issued by North Cowichan until such time as the Coastal Fire Service area’s current restrictions are removed.
“Fireworks are banned in the Coastal Fire Service area as part of current restrictions,” a news release issued Oct. 17 by the municipality noted. “A reminder that buying and selling of fireworks is prohibited at all times, and a permit is required to possess or discharge fireworks.”
This comes as Halloween approaches, a popular time of year for fireworks.
