Moe than 1,200 Qualicum Beach voters cast ballots on Wednesday (Oct. 12) in the second round of advance voting at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre.
The town’s chief election officer, Heather Svensen, reported 1,265 electors cast ballots, combined with 1,012 on the first day of advance voting (Oct. 5), bringing the total number of ballots cast so far to 2,277.
“We are pleased to see the civic spirit of our community thriving,” said Svensen. “With the high advance voter turnout and more than 350 mail ballots requested so far, we expect Qualicum Beach’s historic high voter turnout to continue.”

The civic centre (747 Jones St.) is designated as the voting place on general voting day on Oct. 15. Voting is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
If voters wish to avoid the most popular times, ballots are best cast in the late afternoon or evening, according to the release. Eligible electors that are not on the list of registered electors can register at the voting place immediately before voting, after providing identification.
