Man hospitalized with ‘life-threatening’ injuries after stabbing in Nanaimo

Police called to townhouse complex after early-morning incident

A 25-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after an early-morning stabbing incident Saturday at a Nanaimo townhouse complex.

Nanaimo RCMP report that at approximately 2 a.m., they were alerted to an incident and found the man, who had been stabbed several times. He was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

A male suspect was located nearby and arrested. He is slated to appear before a Justice of the Peace.

“This investigation is ongoing, and is still in the early stages,” said Nanaimo RCMP Sgt. Jon Stuart.

“Nanaimo Detachment’s General Investigation Section is following up on the file, and will be pursuing the investigation.”

Police also want to speak with any other witnesses or persons who may have relative information about this case.
