Nearly 4,000 residents are without power south of Courtenay.
Hornby Island and most of Denman Island has been without power since early this morning, affecting just over 2,000 customers. A power outage on the northern part of Denman Island was reported to have been caused by a fallen tree. The other outages are still under investigation.
Another large power outage, affecting 1656 customers has been reported between Fanny Bay and Qualicum Bay. The cause is under investigation.
195 residents in Fanny Bay are also currently without power with the cause under investigation.
As of 11 a.m., B.C. Hydro crews were still responding to each outage.
