Gas prices skyrocket over night in Greater Victoria

Hopefully capital-area residents filled up their tanks this past weekend as gas prices jumped 12 cents overnight in Greater Victoria.

According to GasBuddy, a number of stations in Greater Victoria are pricing fuel at 153.9 cents a litre.

The lowest price for gas starts at 136.9 at Costco in Langford.

North of the Malahat, prices remain 136.9 in two Duncan locations, but are at 1.44.9 at most Duncan-area stations.

Other typical prices include: 1.33.9 in Ladysmith; 132.9 in Nanaimo, 1.42.9 in Port Alberni, 1.33.9 in Parksville, 1.32.9 in Campbell River and 1.51.9 in Port Hardy.

The lowest prices on the Island — as they often are — are at the Courtenay Cosco: 1.28.9.
