A number of power lines are down and portions of Bamfield Road are washed out on the way from Pachena Bay to Port Alberni.
A powerful wind storm overnight knocked out power to more than 400 BC Hydro customers in Pachena Bay and Bamfield.
Passenger Kimmie MacDonald submitted video of the harrowing drive. She noted that more than 30 powerlines are down, with some power poles snapped off at the top.
According to BC Hydro, crews are currently on site, and power is estimated to return on Monday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m.
No flood warnings or advisories have been issued by the River Forecast Centre at this time, but there has been almost 100 mm of precipitation in Port Alberni since Saturday.
