Elderly woman missing in Nanaimo

Nanaimo RCMP turn to public to help find woman missing from Brechin Hill area

The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a 75-year-old woman.

According to a press release, Julie Curling left her apartment in central Nanaimo at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, and has not been seen or heard from since.

Police say Curling has significant medical conditions, one of which causes extreme memory loss.

Curling resides in an apartment building on Cypress Street, located between Terminal and Vancouver avenues. Nanaimo Search and Rescue are attending and will be commencing a search for her.

Curling is a white, five-feet tall, 140 pounds, with shoulder-length grey hair. Her husband who reported her as missing cannot recall what she was wearing.

Investigators have been told she will respond to her first name. Anyone who sees Curling is asked to call 911 immediately.
