Cougar spotted near Elk Lake

Animal spotted Wednesday afternoon on field near Pat Bay Highway

Saanich Police received a report of a possible cougar sighting along the Pat Bay Highway nearl Elk Lake Wednesday afternoon.

Police report the animal was spotted in a field on the west side of the 5400 block of the Pat Bay Highway shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday. Extensive patrols in the area were unable to locate the cougar.
